Ragdoll Cat Of The Week | Featured Ragdoll Cats

Angelicdolls Final Fantasy of Elonadolls

You might have noticed that we have a Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats.com.

If you are interested in submitting your kitty as Ragdoll of the Week, we welcome you to share stories and photos of your Ragdoll cat or Ragdolls with us and Floppycats.com readers.

Ragdoll of the Week on Floppycats isn’t a contest or really a selection process – as long as you follow these guidelines (that keep us sane =)) and submit your story and photos in full, your kitty will be next in line for Ragdoll of the Week.

Please note: The only limitation for Ragdoll of the Week submissions is that your kitty needs to be at least 1 year old.  If your kitty has passed (has died), s/he is still welcome!  Is your kitty not old enough to be Ragdoll of the Week?  You can always submit them as Ragdoll Kitten of the Month instead!

What to Submit:

If you would like to submit your kitty as the Ragdoll of the Week, please send at least a 500-word story (the story can incorporate the answers to the questions below to help you come up with material – 500 words is about 1 full page on Microsoft Word) as well as 5-8 images of your kitty (appropriate to the story makes it more fun!) to jenny [at] floppycats.com.

The limit is 8 photos.  Please select the photos you want to appear on the site and DO NOT send me extra photos to choose from. Please note: you are NOT limited to 500 words – you are welcome to submit a story of 4,000 words, for example.  I require a minimum of 500 words.

How did you get your Ragdoll – was it rescued or from a breeder?

If you got your kitty from a breeder, who was it, and would you recommend them?

How did you become interested in Ragdolls?

How old is your kitty? When was your kitty born?  Have you had your kitty its entire life?  In other words, since s/he was a kitten?

What does your kitty like to do? Or not like to do?

Is your kitty on YouTube?  Share a link to his or her channel with us!

How did your kitty get their name?

Do you recommend any food, toys, beds, etc., to other Ragdoll owners because your kitty loves them?

Please know the questions above are just guidelines – the only thing to follow is 500+ words and 5-8 photos; the rest can be what you want. Some people send answers to the questions above – but that’s not the purpose – the purpose of those questions is to get you thinking about what you want to write about – you don’t have to respond to all those questions or any of them. It’s meant to be written as a story, not a Q&A session.

Please note: Floppycats.com can accept original content ONLY – so if you have your kitty’s story on another website for example, you must submit a unique version here.

The reason for the 500-word story is that people love stories behind photos and want to know the similarities between your kitty’s story and theirs.  The more you share, the better the responses.

Where to Submit:

Please send the complete story and 5-8 story-related photos all in ONE email to info [at] floppycats [dot] com.  The limit is 8 photos.  Please select the photos you want to appear on the site. and DO NOT send extra photos to choose from.

WARNING! Once submitted, stories cannot be edited/altered – so be sure your submission is complete and finalized before submitting it to Floppycats.com.

Additional Considerations:

If you’d like to have your Ragdoll cat featured, please know we look for photos that are close-up portraits of excellent quality, in sharp, clear focus, and without flashbulb effects.  Also, note that you must own the copyright to any photos you submit or provide the appropriate copyright info and permissions from the person who does.

Want to share a video or two with your story?  That’s fine, too, but please first upload the video to YouTube or Vimeo and then send us the direct link to the video on YouTube or Vimeo, so that we can then embed that video on the site.

Please do not embed your photos into a Word document and submit them that way. Unfortunately, we cannot extract them from the Word doc, so we must email you back to get the photos individually. Instead, please attach each item individually in one email.

Photos Too Large for 1 Email?  Use wetransfer.com – it’s a free service.

To send multiple photos via your iPhone – go to “Photos” and then go to the Album, where the needed photos are. Then click “Edit” in the upper right-hand corner, and select the photos you’d like to send (you can’t send more than 5 at once, so limit it to 5). Then click on “Share.” Then click “Mail” and add our email address: info [at] floppycats.com.

Are you unsure if you should participate or if you want to? If you have additional questions, just let us know!

Don’t have a purebred Ragdoll cat but would like to share your kitty’s story?  Please check out our Floppycat of the Week!

Is your kitty not old enough to be Ragdoll of the Week?  You can always submit them as Ragdoll Kitten of the Month instead!
